J R Raby 87 died Saturday after a three day illness. Funeral held Sunday at 2:00 p m at First Methodist Church with Rev J H Westbrook officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery directed by Burgess Funeral Home. He was born December 31 1851 in Burke County North Carolina and lived in Bowie since thirty seven years ago. He leaves a son J W Raby Bowie a daughter Mrs Mattie Berry Archer City and several grandchildren.

Mr and Mrs A W Chandler of Montague County plan an open house at their Fruitland area home to mark their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday. Their son G O Chandler and wife from San Diego will join in a dinner with all five children grandchildren and great grandchildren present. The couple married February 24 1889 in Harmony community with Rev James Anderson performing the ceremony. They have five children nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
