Blood Drive Planned Here in Bowie by Jaycees

The Bowie Jaycees sponsor a blood drive at Bowie Memorial Hospital to refresh the Volunteer Donor List. A booth will be set up Saturday February 25 in downtown Bowie for free blood typing from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Gold-Burg Independent School District will hold a trustee election on April 1 1967 to choose three trustees. Captain Robert Karsteter son of Mr and Mrs Burton W Karsteter of Bowie was wounded January in Vietnam. He received shrapnel wounds while flying in a helicopter during Operation Iron Triangle. He was flown to an American Hospital in Tokyo Japan. Elizabeth Young librarian at Bowie High School printed his letter praising American soldiers and urging continued youth effort.

Jaycees Elect Jerry Prestwood Bowie Chapter President

Jerry Prestwood has been elected president of the new Jaycee chapter in Bowie. Officers elected and installed include Billy Godfrey as vice president Danny Hacker as secretary treasurer Dan Lancaster as second vice president James Cunningham as Interclub director and Lee Cordell and Jimmy Roth as directors. Bowie Post Office Moves to Permanent Site Saturday

The Bowie Post Office relocates from a temporary site to a remodeled building on North Mason this weekend. Mail stops at the old boxes by 2 p.m. Saturday. new box keys should be picked up before noon. About 90 box numbers change, with 704 total boxes after 11,500 square feet of space and 20 staff.
