Widow Julia Cree Dies at 95 Bowie's Oldest Citizen
Mrs. Julia E. Cree, 95, longtime Bowie resident and charter member of Kaufman First Baptist, died early Tuesday. Funeral services were held in Bowie and Kaufman with pastors Rev. A. J. Quinn, Rev. T. A. Bohannon, and Rev. T. J. Doss taking part. Survived only by daughter Mrs. C. Y. Cosby. other relatives attended from Fort Worth Kemp and Kaufman.

Cpl. Wylie G. Hull of Montague received the Bronze Star for heroism on the Fifth Army front in Italy. In a tank destroyer unit headquarters house hit by shellfire, Hull searched rubble for an hour, risking his life to rescue a buried comrade as enemy fire raked the building. His home is Route 1, Montague.

Mr and Mrs Paul Scroggins received word from the War Department that their son Pfc Oliver H Scroggins is missing in action in France.
