Bowie Future Farmers wrap up the final report for the school year showing total labor income of 4604.91. The group included 47 boys with 42 completing their projects, and average per member was 111.07. They conducted extensive farming enterprises and improvement projects across beef, poultry, crops, and livestock, building 28 farm buildings and 49 pieces of farm equipment, among many others.

Directors adopted a $10 830 budget for the Bowie Chamber of Commerce for the year with $6 000 for a manager salary and $1 500 for office expenses. Seven year old Timothy Vann dies after tonsillectomy
Timothy Monroe Vann seven died Friday at Bowie Hospital after a tonsillectomy. Heart failure was listed as the cause. He was the son of Mr and Mrs T J Vann of Montague born July 4 1954 in Nocona, a Montague school second grader. Funeral Sunday at 2 30 pm at Montague Methodist Church. Burial in Montague Cemetery. Survivors include parents a sister Beverly Kay a brother Tommy James grandparents J A Nelson Bonita and Wilma Lawler Bowie. Pallbearers named.
