Elk roams Montague Experiment Station. dispatch planned
Elk over 1000 pounds grazed on winter peas at the Montague Experiment Station. James McCash, local game warden, believes the Elk traveled from the Wichita Mountains Oklahoma. The animal’s location was publicized by M rs Fenoglio of the station despite a government land posting. McCash plans to capture the animal but not return it to Oklahoma. The paper cautions on Elk hunting seasonal laws and critiques county fiscal plans for a new capitol and fire protection funding proposals for Bow ie landowners.

Gerald Free, president of First Savings and Loan Association of Bo Vie, led local supporters in seeking a Gainesville Texas branch. Opponents included Hesterian Building and Savings Association, First State Bank of Gainesville, Gainesville National Bank, and several individuals. Cub Scouts and Webelos of Pack Up start selling stationery to raise funds for this year’s Pine Wood Derby. Each box costs 1.00.
