At a chamber of commerce meeting on Monday night a 1937 Bowie Fair was proposed. A committee of men led by D. M. Major and including Harry H. Dreyfuss H. M. Moore Dale Eales and W. H. Stephens was named to coordinate with a ladies committee led by Mrs. R. C. Cady Mrs. D. B. Benson Mrs. Walter Coffield Mrs. Wilbur Morgan Mrs. W. R Potter Mrs. W. FE Benson and Miss Estelle Miller to decide location and date. Dr. E. W. Wright reported on a telephone talk with Walter Hogg about opening the Bowie Cotton Mill. The chamber also pursues a NAWR road project from Bowie to Nocona.

Second Free Auction Sale Saturday in Bowie County
The second in a series of free public auctions will be held this Saturday February 20 at the old Coffield Feed Store on Smokey Street. Col Mack Winsett will host bidding starting at 1 pm. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce the sale is free to all farmers and residents to dispose of surplus livestock farm implements household goods and other articles. Approximately 400 dollars worth was exchanged last Saturday and a larger crowd is expected.

Funeral Service Held for Mrs Eula Coffman
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Montague for Mrs Eula Pearl Coffman who died Sunday in Bowie Clinic hospital after pneumonia. She was born in 1900 in Oklahoma and moved to Montague County as a child. Survivors include her husband A J Coffman, a son Paul age 14, a daughter Mrs Fannie Hardison, three sisters, three brothers and her parents.

Newport Man Hurt When Sledge Hits Him
