Big Snow Brings Needed Moisture To Farm Lands
Snow and sleet totaling four to five inches along the Bowie area from Tuesday to Thursday followed a Tuesday blizzard that dropped temperatures to about 16 above. The precipitation equals roughly a half inch of rain, aiding droughty farms and ranches after four and a half months with little rain. Traffic slowed but no major accidents reported. Since the last blizzard, the city lowered about 1500 feet of water mains on Edith and Madison streets to prevent freezing troubles.
