Cucumber Growers Urged To Sign For 1943 Acreage
Farmers in the Bowie area wishing to grow cucumbers for 1943 are urged to sign up at the Bowie Chamber of Commerce now housed in the city auditorium. Last year Craddock Food Company contracted cucumbers. farmers reported good returns per acre. Craddock hopes for up to 200 pledged acres and will operate a purchasing station locally if enough production is promised. Those interested should contact the Chamber of Commerce immediately.

Funeral services for Edward Abner Oliver of Fort Worth were conducted at Owens and Brumley Chapel with Rev. A J Quinn officiating. He was 63 and died February 2 at his father in law R B Spell’s home in Fruitland. Born March 25 1879 in Montecello Arkansas he moved to Clay County at 16 and married Rosa Lee Spell in 1909 at Petrolia. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
