H A Reynolds chairman of the County AAA committee calls all eligible Montague County cotton growers to vote in the marketing quota referendum on Saturday December 7. He notes quotas arise under the 1938 Agricultural Adjustment Act when supplies are 7 percent above normal and a two thirds majority is needed in the Cotton Belt. He cites 37 percent current overage and a world supply around 25 million bales, with 18 million as normal. He warns war reduces demand and urges every cotton producer in 1940 to vote, to reflect true producer opinion.
