Work starts on Dye Mound road and proceeds in Precincts 1 and 2 with 70 percent WPA funding and managers John Raymond and Morris Thompson. City to complete topping of streets on WPA project
City Engineer F J Von Zuben reported the continuing topping of old WPA project streets. About 40 to 50 men will be employed for several weeks on Pecan Street and the street to the South Ward School. Two coats of liquid asphalt will finish the project with Works Progress Administration labor at five dollars a month for materials and a city outlay near 1400 dollars.

A weekend storm dropped about 2.34 inches locally and more across Bowie Nocona Ringgold and surrounding areas. Farmers report moisture to help cotton bolls corn maize and other grains mature while fruit trees recover. Tanks fill and stock water is hauled again as fall garden seed sales rise. In Ringgold 3 1/2 inches fell with rapid downpour in 50 minutes.

Minnie Ellis Dies at Mother's Home after Long Illness
Mrs. Minnie Ellis died Wednesday at about 1 am at her mother's home Mrs. W H Dumas following years of illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 30 pm at the home conducted by Rev Johnny Cox of Montague. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery under Burgess Funeral Home direction. She was born Sept 16 3 and left behind her husband and child.
