Short Session of the General Assembly Looked For Governor Views
Special correspondence from Springfield Illinois dated January 12 reports Governor Tanner not strongly backing a new congressional reapportionment unless a unanimous Republican consensus exists. He seeks unity among congressmen and legislators, urges lawfulness of the process, and signals willingness to aid if a solid bipartisan backing forms. The piece covers street railways, tax plans, drainage channel inspections, and anti-trust enforcement, with notes on reappointments and public instruction staff.
