Mrs. Fred Marlett aged 69 died Monday at the state hospital in Alton after years as a patient. She leaves her husband two sons Milo J of Mendon and T Edmond of Keokuk a daughter Miriam Croxton of Macomb and ten grandchildren. The body was taken to Freeman Funeral Home.

Blackburn College Carlinville Illinois opened the school year with a record enrollment of 304 and more applications than capacity. The college celebrated its Centennial with gifts totaling 190000 and seeks 100000 more for the Centennial Fund.
