A cyclone hit Laronne Iowa at 9 pm from the northwest destroying Union Hall and unroofing many homes. Stores in the business district sustained heavy damage. The Walker residence was blown apart, injuring the mother and leaving children on the ground. Property loss reported at 76000 with more damage reported countrywide.
A bridge collapse on the Lig Muddy river near Blairsville killed William Thompson and fatally injured Arthur McKea James Campbell D Maffeld John Edmunds and Theodore Harris. Others serious or injured include W H McKea Thomas Robinson Miles Harris Frank Leech and an unknown man.
San Francisco reports the steam whaler Shrasher arrived with news that 13 whalers and about 500 men trapped in the arctic ice since late September are safe. A relief fleet began as soon as distress was reported. a gale on October 2 broke the ice and captains freed their ships within a day, sending them toward the whaling rendezvous.
A boiler explosion on Jonas Spayd’s farm in German township, Reaver, Dachmer, Marberger, Spayd, Duetel, and Hinnershatt died or were injured. Six men killed and many injured as a steam threshing machine burst apart. Hinnershatz carried a bucket of water during the blast, hurled 26 feet away with water still in the bucket.

A three-man bandit crew halted a Mexican Central passenger train 62 miles south of El Paso at 4 30 this morning. They forced the engineer and fireman to stop and later held up the express car, taking over $2000. Messenger M T Villegas jumped aboard the side door car, grabbed the safe keys, and fled, preserving the safe’s valuable contents.
In Carisin Pennsylvania on November 1 a violent campus clash erupted when a Halloween bonfire drew firefighters. Firemen aimed water at students and stones flew from both sides, leaving about a dozen injured, some severely.
Narragansett region case report from Montreal dated November first details Pitcher, a bank demolisher, being removed to medical ward after 20 years of erratic behavior. Chief Warden Payette predicted deterioration to a drivelling idiot or raving maniac within a year. Pitcher claims vacation fantasy at Narragansett, Virginia shore not present. He will be sent to a lunacy commission and Langue Pointe for confinement.
In Ronpour New York on November 3, residents recall W. D. Whittaker who long owned a vast farm along the Saugerties road. His eccentric habits were widely talked about, with neighbors and descendants still pondering his odd ways as Michael Jezson now resides on the property.
In an old homestead story a turtle found by Jerson bears the name W. D. Wurrraken and the date Aug. 10, 1771. The creature appears over eleven years old with gray wrinkled neck, scaly legs, and a worn tail, indicating long years in the land. The discovery draws attention to the elder observer’s pastime.

A Pennsylvanian report tells of a railway man who placed a dozen raw eggs in a tin pail inside a tank box to hatch during a train trip. The eggs hatched into nine chicks before the box was discovered and opened, leaving three eggs unfertilized.
A prairie fire swept Sioux Valley Township Jackson county on Thursday afternoon, killing five. Farmer Henry Ray died from severe burns after helping fight the blaze. Mrs. Mollie O Connor and Mrs. Murray perished with a four week old babe while fleeing danger. A separate family of three reportedly burned in the fire’s reach. Property losses, including hay, grain, stock, and buildings, expected around $60,000.
Aveyron November 2 reports a deadly coal mine blast at Campagnac colliery caused by fire damp. Forty miners are known to have died and searching parties have recovered 19 bodies.
In Meddybemps Maine Edward Stevenson 20 of Alexander and Thomas Whitlock 20 of Milltown were hunting. Whitlock accidentally fired while Stevenson stepped aside, wounding him in the leg and thigh. Stevenson died after Whitlock carried him two miles before help arrived.
Mrs Lucy Parsons widow of Chicago born anarchist sails to London at British Social Democratic Federation invitation to speak at November 11 commemorations in Regent's Park and Hyde Park with possible mortuary vigil. She predicts cross country memorials in France Yale Switzerland Belgium Spain and 100 US cities and plans to return to Chicago before December with her two children nearby.
A town team on Union street in Quincy Massachusetts was blown several feet into the air by a hidden infernal device believed to be dynamite near the boot and shoe factory of Thomas A Whicher Co. No injuries occurred. Tin box fragments were found at the scene and the motive remains a mystery.
In CarcaGco Nov 2, Detective Jake Loewenstein, a well known officer, was fatally shot by his wife in a quarrel at dawn. She fired five shots. one entered the head above the ear, another grazed the breast, and a third hit his right thumb. He has only hours to live.
In Van Zandt County Canton Texas on Wednesday night James Bell Ben Russell and George W Griffin three colored men were killed after being ordered to raise hands during an attempted arrest. Russell faced a misdemeanor charge and W L Hayes Sam Stanford Claude Stanford and Will James went to arrest him. Friends say the killings stem from a palon quarrel and an investigation is underway.
Will Davis, a well known Indianapolis Republican and assistant to W Alexander, private secretary to General Harrison, was attacked by an unknown man in Circle Square early today. His skull was crushed and he was taken to a hospital in a dying condition. the assailant escaped.
Knight and his brother Jon Knight are severely injured with the elder not expected to survive. Nicholas Stevens is badly hurt and Daniel Swisher has a broken back. A second vehicle followed the first and was signalled just in time to avert a severe collision.
A 20 year old woman Dollie Phillips was shot dead on a Terre Haute street during a parade last night. A man named Galloway was identified by witnesses as the shooter who fled the scene despite crowds. The motive remains unknown and the suspect is at large.

A hunting party near Rifle Creek Colorado reports a stunning new waterfall on Ridle Creek about 25 miles from town. The cascade runs 150 feet over a rocky edge, spreading to a 100 foot width and rivaling Niagara in beauty though not volume. Organizers plan to formalize the discovery and may name it Rocky Mountain Falls.
Worcester Nov 2 Millbury sees a population boost as Mrs Frank A DeGroot gives birth to four girl babies. The mother and all four infants are reported well with weights around three to six pounds. Crowds gathered as the cries were heard. Dr A G Slocumb attended.
John P. Benne, Bloomsburg public schools principal, was found dead at his wife's grave in Wixrsearre on November 1 after cutting his throat. Despondent since his wife's death, he took his own life.
James Hollis aged 14 at Mitrono Mass navy yard ran into a tree in the school yard this forenoon fracturing his skull and badly cutting his face his injuries are thought to be fatal. A Russian rail clash near Kovel yesterday killed many people in southern Russia.
A telegraph report from Hopewell Bedford county describes a Sandy Run branch accident on the Huntington and Broad Top railroad. Fourteen ore mine workers on a handcar led by William Stull were thrown when a front wheel broke. Samuel Hastings died instantly and mine boss Maher Zeth suffered a crushed skull. reports say Zeth died. Samuel (last name truncated) is referenced.

Reported results show Merriam Republican 56,879 and Wilson Democrat 54,337 for governor. Harrison Progressive 6,164. In St Paul Wilson gains in placity of about 5,000. For president in St Paul precincts Harrison 11,157 and Cleveland 12,032.
Bismarck D T November 7 The returns from this and outlying sections indicate Matthews Republican has been elected delegate by a majority of at least 20000 The Republicans carry more than three fourths of both Houses of the Legislature
In St Louis Missouri on November 7 a report lists 108 precincts and towns plus one outside county showing Harrison with 16 726 votes and Cleveland with 17 219 votes.
New York reports that Cleveland will secure a 1600 plurality in Florida, while The World claims Republicans have attempted to steal the state by robbing ballot boxes.
Providence Nov 7 Official returns today show Harrison's plurality in the state increasing to 4600. Final tallies reflect updating results across counties and districts.
Cincinnati election dispatch reports at 3 am that Harrison leads in Ohio with a plurality between 20 000 and 26 000. The Commercial Gazette notes early returns from the Republican headquarters indicating a strong statewide margin for Harrison.
San Francisco voters tally from Nevada precincts shows Harrison leading Cleveland 2,379 to 1,695 with 30 of 172 precincts reported. The 1884 comparison had Blaine 2,334 and Cleveland 1,797.
Returns from 34 counties show Harison with nearly 12 000 vote majority and Cooper a Republican governor candidate with 8000 to 10000. Arapahoe county and Denver precincts indicate a Republican ticket lead of about 2000 to 3000.
Later advices from interior towns are encouraging to the Democrats. Cleveland is making magnificent gains and may yet save Wisconsin s eleven electoral votes.
Four Wheeling precincts in West Virginia report a Democratic gain of 66 points and a Republican gain of 188 compared with 1884 national ticket totals. Republicans claim Atkinson elected to Congress from the first district based on early returns.
Wilmington Del November 7 2 pm Delaware's Legislature remains in doubt with no conclusive results from Kent county while Sussex county may be near an official count. The election of two members from either Kent or Sussex could give the Democrats control of the next General Assembly.
Forty two precincts in Nevada out of 172 report Harrison 147 Cleveland 2534 tally up to 2 am. In 1884 the 42 precincts gave Blame 3166 Cleveland 2534.
In Vermont on November 7 Harrison received 36,120 votes from 164 towns while Cleveland had 15,284 and Fisk 1,117 with 34 scattering. The same towns in 1884 backed Blaine 31,354 and Cleveland 13,677 while St John had 1,451, Butler held a 615 Republican majority overall.
Fragmentary figures 21,185 to 15,631 cited from 1884 and a reference to 1834 in the Republican context. No clear event, location, or named entities discernible beyond dates and numbers.
