Death of Mrs Emmons After Trials and Divorce
Washington February 12 Poor and bright Weltha Ann Emmons died about 8 o clock this morning. Her maid summoned a physician by telephone from the street station opposite her boarding place in F street. Professor Emmons, who lodges nearby, hastened to the scene but too late. He then tenderly took charge of the remains. Emmons, about 33, had been confined to the house for a year, her illness seeming to worsen. She had married and been divorced from Emmons, then remarried in Boston, earning a living in an opera chorus, with later unions involving a Georgia figure and Professor Knous of Queen, Europe, who had not lived with her for two years.
