Ossipee New Hampshire man declares innocence after being held for murder in his wife’s death. Police say the wife was bound gagged and beaten and the house set on fire to conceal the crime. The suspect told a Post reporter he knew nothing until a phone call from Young’s Hotel summoned him.

Chicago still has a chance only if Boston falters and Comiskey's team wins out against Cleveland today and Sunday. National League games were halted by rain with no standings change.
The home of William M. Wood president of the American Woolen Company in Andover was entered by thieves several days ago. Jewelry valued at about 1000 dollars was stolen before the intruders fled when discovered. The entry was made by climbing a porch and removing a screen from a chamber window.
Dr William Brickley of the Relief Station oper ated on Carl A Anderson of West Boston to save his life after a severe skull fracture. Anderson was found unconscious in Marsh Lane North End and the operation was completed in record time. Early this morning he remained on the danger list but had a chance of recovery, physicians said.
Four year old Mary Webber was assaulted near Parker street and Longwood avenue Roxbury by an unidentified man who fled as bystanders approached. She escaped unharmed and provided police with a detailed description, linking him to other recent Roxbury assaults.

Crept Small whose wife was found murdered in the Small cottage on Lake Osipee this morning. Small was held under guard in a local hotel tonight and engaged counsel.
