Ex-Constable Fined Despite Gun on Neck at Hotel
In New Bedford on September 29 Joshua H. Cornell, a Westport ex-constable, was fined for carrying concealed weapons after a revolver worn around his neck failed to shield $1800 in his pockets. Parker House staff testified his armored appearance disrupted dining hall order, yet Judge Milliken ruled the weapon exposure did not exempt him from the law. Cornell paid a large fine, handed $1800 to Lt. Adams, and left for Westport.
