In Dedham on September 29 officials report an ad led to identifying the heirs of the Brewster Islands property in Boston Harbor. The estate is believed to be owned by the heirs of Horatio Seymour with a 150 year history from Martin Brewster. Likely heirs include Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Newcomb and Mrs. Susan Morrow, sisters residing in East Dedham.
In Lynn at 7 PM a lamp fell from the ceiling at Justin W. Wharff’s cigar store at Central avenue and Washington street starting a fire. Loss estimated at 18 500 with 1300 insured. In Warr four Otis company dry houses burned. main buildings saved. loss about 2000 insured. A sofa fire at 161 Green street in John Johnson's residence caused minor damage. A Cambridge roof fire at Alden Speare’s Oil Works on Binney street produced trifling damage.
