The tenth district Democrats chose Bordman Hall as their unanimous choice at Music Hall Dorchester. Jerry Watson spoke in favor of seating a Ward 18 delegation while the convention refused it. The meeting paused for remarks by Hon. William S McNary who urged party unity and a strong, united front. 181 delegates were seated, 163 admitted, with 18 to be settled.

Two Fatal Falls On Coal Barge At Long Wharf
Two L. G. Burnham & Co. workers fell from a staging on a coal barge loading into the steamer Brookline at Long wharf. Dennis Sullivan and John Crowley, both seriously injured, were taken to hospital. both may die from skull fractures and internal injuries.

Mills Resume Operation At Boston Manufacturing Company
Work has recommenced in the Boston Manufacturing Company mills at Waltham after an eight day shutdown. Jacob Berkovitz alias Caddia Burkovicz, 60, wanted for attempted murder of Morris Bellitz at 6 Cotting Street West End on August 8. He fired three times wounding Bellitz. wife unhurt. He fled town. Philadelphia police yet to secure requisition papers for extradition.

Blackwell Sighted in Montreal Connected to Boston Missing Man
Postmaster A J Sibley of Montpelier received a letter from an Elmore resident claiming a man matching E D Blackwell’s description appeared in Montreal on Sept 17, mentally deranged. The man asked about railroad tickets to Montpelier and claimed lost money. A Montpelier resident also said she saw Blackwell in Montreal about two weeks earlier. Authorities soon handed the letter to the missing man’s father-in-law, Charles Dewey.
