Reports state a powerful British fleet with land forces bolstering operations near the Straits. Kemal Pasha agrees to recognize neutral status of the Straits while armistice terms are negotiated.
In Reading a herd of 12 cows belonging to farmer Charles Wakefield escaped pasture and paraded through streets and gardens to the amusement of hundreds of autoists and revelers yesterday afternoon in a light hearted cattle roundup and wild west scene.
J W Richmond of 356 Park Street Dorchester plans a reunion with his sister Mrs Bertha Hyman now living in Poland. They last saw each other when she was five. The sister and her husband recently came to America after a son in the A E F located their Dorchester uncle. A reunion is set for New York City Sunday.
A young couple discovered two apparently lifeless partly clothed baby dolls in bushes along Lovers' Lane near Caledonian Grove West Roxbury. Patrolman Nelson and the couple retrieved the dolls, delivering them to the West Roxbury station where they rested on the lieutenant's desk. The incident left the couple shaken as they resumed their walk while an amusement park manager noted missing prize dolls the night before.
The brothers Charles L Westervelt and William J Westervelt of Passaic New Jersey traveled 400 miles to a Maine woodland to end their lives by hanging from a hemlock tree. The safety deposit box opening in Portland Maine is expected to shed light on the deaths.
The National League games featured Boston 7 at Brooklyn and Philadelphia 5 over New York 3 in 10 innings. Philadelphia 2 beat Pittsburgh 1. In the Eastern Minor Title race New Haven 6 defeated Baltimore 5.

In Beverly 14 year old Daniel Hurley rescued his uncle Daniel J. Hurley by shutting off a gas line and opening windows after the elder man attempted self harm in a Pond Street bathroom. The uncle was taken to Beverly Hospital and expected to recover.
