Howard C. Boynton a Jaffrey selectman was jailed in Keene New Hampshire on a $10,000 defamation suit by Charles L. Rich alleging Boynton claimed Rich killed Dr William K Dean. Bail refused. The murder of Dr Dean on August 13 1918 remains unsolved. Writ returnable at civil session opening October 19.
Buffalo N Y Sept 27 Stewart Motor Corporation becomes the first auto mobile truck maker to announce price reductions effective immediately. The cuts average 20 percent with models priced from 155 dollars for the 8 4 ton to 706 dollars for the 3 1 2 ton truck. President T R Lippard cites market demand and material costs as factors in the decision.
