Newspaper men toured the Boston & Albany line’s new equipment for the 40 p m limited Boston New York service. The Worcester leg took two and a half hours with a lunch break, return about fifty four minutes, showcasing mahogany interiors, Pullman design, and modern sanitation and lighting. Smith's Fatal Fall at Medford Races Ends in Hospital

Philip Smith a 26 year old fruit peddler of Somerville fell from a barrel wagon rack near Mystic Park Medford while watching races yesterday. He struck his head and his back was broken leaving him paralyzed. He lies helpless at Massachusetts General Hospital and cannot recover.

Chelsea Family Home Fire Traced to Left Burning Candle

An incendiary candle caused a fire at a two story frame house at 71 Pine Street in Chelsea. The blaze, reported from Box 23 at 5:52 last evening, damaged the dwelling and Lipsin's furniture. The Moran family insured the property and Lipsin faced $100 in losses. The fire occurred while the family was away.

End o Crook Plunges Through a Window to Liberty

South Boston police searched the district for a burglar who leaped from a second story window into a yard and escaped uninjured after attempting to burglarize Mrs BE at 3 Claremont Park. A detailed description was given by witnesses, and Captain Foster led the ensuing manhunt. James Sullivan reported a $35 silver watch stolen from his room earlier in the day.

OFF FO CHICAGO September 27 delegates to the national Irish congress began leaving for home. Massachusetts delegates left at 10 a.m. today while President Lyman of the National Alliance will stay until tomorrow to confer on charter issues and other preliminary alliance matters.

Pocketbook Theft From Baby Carriage In Chelsea

Mrs. A B Starrick reported to police that five youths aged 12 to 19 snatched a pocketbook containing 4.81 from a baby carriage in front of a Broadway 5 cent store yesterday afternoon. Harvard religious services open university year

False Fire Alarm Sparks Harvard Square Chaos

Last night a fire alarm at Box 59, 10:30, turned into a needless scare as students passing Harvard Square mistook smoke near the old College House for a blaze. Occupants on the upper floors rushed to escape, adding to the excitement in the area.

Struck by Electric Car Injures Roxbury Man

Patrick Leahey a 39 year old switchman of West End was struck by an electric car on Huntington avenue between Ward and Parker streets Roxbury last evening and seriously injured. He was taken home by road employees and Dr Martin attended. The physician reported internal injuries chiefly.

Oklahoma duel ends in fatal shootings and axe wound

In Perry Oklahoma yesterday John Foote killed James Slabaugh during a fight over a property dispute twenty miles east of town. Charlie Slabaugh hacked Foote with an axe inflicting a fatal head wound and was jailed last night. Frank Carpenter was involved in the altercation.
