Boston police ordered a search of lodging houses to locate Minot St. Clair Francis an escaped state prison inmate. Described as a thickly set 6 foot 10 inch man about 26 years old with a curved lower lip and glassy eyes, he wore brown trousers and a brown striped shirt when he escaped State Farm.
Forecast for Boston and vicinity calls for fair skies on Tuesday and Wednesday with north easterly winds turning variable. Washington reports New England fair with cool Tuesday night lows in cranberry marshes and diminishing northwest winds.
Firefighters and a physician battled flames surrounding 75 year old Emily Fogg in her bedroom. Friends and relatives stood by fearing movement could worsen the blaze. The flames were finally subdued after efforts to prevent spread to the bed and rest of the room.
