Columbia College Football Candidates Depart for New York

PRACTICE WAS BRIEF. Columbia College football candidates who did not leave last Saturday rode the afternoon express from Branford Point to New York. They will resume practice in New York when college opens Thursday morning. Coach G Foster Sanford reported assurances from several players including Plage and Stanley. Lamb will return tomorrow and Coe from Princeton Preparatory School has applied to Tufts. Last season's backs are in good shape and a strong line is expected for West Point and Yale games. Coach Hopkins demonstrated new plays in gym with a blackboard, a first for Tufts.
