Skin grafting attempted to aid Malden burn victim

Mrs Annie Pearlswig, burned in a July 30 fire on Cross street, undergoes skin grafting to the face. Bernard McGovern donated skin strips, with Joseph Pearlswig and others to follow. Doctors Fritz W Gay Victor Shapiro and William J McBain lead the first such operation in Malden at Malden Hospital.

Mystery Surrounds Wounded Man Shot In Boston Area

The severely wounded man walked from Waverley to the Boston car line and home, eluding immediate recovery. Police from Boston and Belmont seek the shooter and motive. Harold Childs, manager of Yatter's pool room at 578 Washington Street, was awakened by his father’s collapse and summoned Dr Bowles near Massachusetts and Washington.

Salisbury reports a fatal lightning strike at the Haverhill Danvers Amesbury Street Railway power station. Chester Parker, in charge at night, died after touching a bucket edge while attempting to douse a fire. Robert Dale survived a near fatal shock. The bolt delivered about 13,200 volts.
