Consolidated Fibre Board & Leatheroid Co Plans Asset Takeover

Consolidated Fibre Board and Leatheroid Co will acquire the business and assets of Mousam Manufacturing and Leatheroid Manufacturing at Kennebunk and Poland Missouri, Towne Manufacturing at Boston, Harwood Manufacturing at Leominster and Boston, and Clegg & Fisher at Lawrence and Boston. The deal grants practical control of Leather Board operations and full control of Leatheroid. Audited figures show three year sales totaling about 1.74 million dollars with net profits around 392 thousand dollars, and combined assets of about 1.43 million dollars plus 100 thousand in securities as working capital. Bonds offered payable in gold in 30 years at 5 percent interest, redeemable after five years with a premium. preferred shares pay 8 percent semiannually and participate with common stock after dividends. Shovel Factory Attacked by Sheriff Over Partner Debt

The sheriff seized the Lee Lowerre and Lee shovel factory in New York on attachment against non resident W. H. Lowerre for 8516 in favor of Peter H. Carr of Taunton Massachusetts who sold the firm a large shovel stock.
