The sixth instalment of Dr. Cook’s polar journey is set to run in tomorrow’s Post. It features striking photographs taken by Dr. Cook during his crossing of the polar sea, noted as extremely interesting.

Newburyport Sept 23 A soloist David Ballintyne was injured and four companions severely cut when a span of horses bolted during a midnight ride. The outfit was smashed and one horse was killed. The party included John Dondero a baseball player Frank and Daniel Donahue and Antonio Bar bero.
Mrs Margaret N Chase wife of Dr H Lincoln Chase Brookline defends her position amid the Hartley Dennett separation. President Taft opened the Gunnison tunnel near Montrose Colorado as sheriffs drew revolvers to deter an intruder scare. Superintendent Daniels was knocked down in the confusion while attempting to reach Taft, and Sheriff DeGuille ordered him back into the crowd.
In Binghamton N Y on September 23 Edward P Gard ner of Upham's Corner Dorchester Mass was killed and Mrs A J Shaw of Susquehanna seriously injured when the carriage they rode in overturned near Susquehanna.
New Haven Conn Sept 24 The Journal Courier reports the New York New Haven Hartford railroad seeks to raise capital by issuing 400000 new shares, each at par $100, boosting capital by 40 million. A special stockholders meeting is slated for October 27 in New Haven to consider the proposal.
In Duxbury a group called the Triune Immersionists gathered at a small Ashdod chapel and warned that the earth would be broken and cities erased by 10 o clock tomorrow. Leaders Mrs Eva Billings of Waterville and Mrs A J Rawson of Lynn preached, while attendees, including women and children, prayed, fainted, and cried out for divine judgment.
Announcement reports Miss Ethel Herrick of Paris and formerly of Boston engaged to Walbridge Taft nephew of the President. Taft is a Yale man class of 1907. His brother is William Howard Taft, named for the President.
