Unofficial reports from Guerrero indicate rebels abducted two women, including Mrs. Jesus Ferrer of La Porta Vera Cruz, and held her for ransom. A judge from the same town is said to have been abducted. Also, arrests occurred in Mexico City for anti Madero demonstrations on a national holiday.
President Taft was honored at a Chelsea armory banquet for the new post office dedication. A mixed Democratic and Republican crowd of 2500 waited in the rain as he spoke briefly on local affairs before leaving for Beverly.
President Taft traveled from Beverly to Chelsea arriving shortly after 7 00 PM with aides and Secret Service. A reception committee led by Mayor James H Malone and Captain William C Renfre w presented him as 2500 residents cheered outside. Taft praised Chelsea recovery from 1908 fire and urged better public buildings with top architects under the Tarsney act.
Major Frank A. McNeeley sixty of Albany New York was found dead in a room at the Thorndike Hotel Green street West End with gas flowing from an open jet and windows tightly closed. The medical examiner Magrath said death was due to gas poison but whether it was suicide could not be determined from the puzzling circumstances. Identification was made by letters in his pockets and an Albany Lodge of Elks membership card.
Major McNeeley, adjutant general of the Third Brigade and NY Armory secretary, registered at the West End hotel as A Nuis. Clerk Henry A Welch lit gas and opened a window. McNeeley felt warm and thirsty, drank water, and a strong odor of gas led to his room where he was found unconscious.

A man identified as Vanbuskirk fell from a moving tram near State Street station and was electrocuted after his arm contacted the third rail.
