Two Veteran Democrats at State Democratic Convention

Col Jonas S French introduced long serving supporters David Rideout and Hemenway of Fremiphem as two old veterans of the Democratic party. Rideout had voted Democratic candidate for governor 56 consecutive times and cast votes for Jackson and all subsequent presidents. Hemenway claimed 66 consecutive years voting Democratic. The crowd applauded as the two men took seats on the platform.
