Farmers and debt, currency, and republic in Plymouth

The speaker, a former collector of customs and lifelong farmer, argues that farmers funded the nation through exports worth over 2.5 billion in five years since the panic, while warning about currency stability. He cites Sumner’s ethics, contrasts demagogues with national honor, and recalls Plymouth county’s wartime debt as a model of covenant-keeping duty. Judge Russell then praises Plymouth and endorses Blaine, urging true statesmanship.
