Malden Beached After Collision Off Montauk Point

The collier Malden, bound from Norfolk to Boston with 7200 tons of coal, was towed toward beached repair sites after colliding with the freighter Jenancy 10 miles off Montauk Point. Crew of 46 saved by the tenancy, then by Guardsman tug. Malden built for New England Coal & Coke Co in 1907, 373.2 feet long, 6054 gross tons, 3098 net. Officers included Captain Gertson and Chief Engineer Bage.

Rescue at sea as Lone Star boat aided by surfmen

Thirty five passengers including many women rode a motorboat Lone Star from City Point when its steering gear failed off Waveland. Surfmen Loyal Willis Will Sousa and Henry Crowley found the vessel at 11:15 last night and saved the group as breakers threatened to wash it ashore. One man named Goldberg leapt overboard during the perilous incident.

Arthur F. Clark Killed by Train at Wellesley Hills Station

Arthur Farrar Clark, longtime dramatic critic for the Chicago Tribune and contributor to other publications, was killed by a train at the Wellesley Hills railroad station around 9 pm. Evicted From Zero's Church

About 200 guests gathered as Helene Lehman announced she would be in town Monday for the Howard street ranges cook room. Fourteen brethren were evicted for pan handling or for shooting African marbles on a scow at midnight with 49 dollars on the table.
