Fire Chief Sennott Ducked Death In Bedford Kingston Run

District Chief Daniel Sennott was knocked from his wagon when an electric strike sent his horse running toward Bedford and Kingston streets. Charles Ingersoll steadied the reins and prevented a crowd tragedy as Sennott rushed to a supposed fire at 2% Berkeley Street after 9 PM.

Insurance man testifies of 48000 gift to national committee

George W. Perkins of J P Morgan & Co testified that a 48000 check drawn by New York Life was a contribution to the national Republican committee promised to Cornelius Bliss. He cited similar gifts in 1896 and 1900 to protect assets against a Democratic win.

Swanton Banker A. J. Ferris Arrested on Fraud Charge

A. J. Ferris, former president of the People's National Bank of Swanton, is in custody in Burlington on charges of misappropriating two bank notes via false entries dated September 20, 1902. The body and escort will arrive at South Station at 7 18 A M with citizens asked to suspend business during the funeral Monday. The remains will be taken to the Collins home on Corey Road and no public events will occur until 10 30 A M Monday at the Cathedral, per family request for privacy.

Chief Sennett Thrown From Wagon By Streetcar Crash

Chief Sennett was struck by a Grove Hall streetcar while riding a horse along Kingston Street. He suffered a deep scalp wound and head contusions, was taken to Relief Hospital, and is expected to recover after several days in bed. Driver Ingersoll steadied the wagon and afterward jumped to restrain the runaway horse as crowds cheered.
