Attendance 16 428 sees Waddell give up two runs to Young in a rough baseball contest. Wild pitches by Waddell and a sequence of errors marked the innings. Umpire Connolly presided as 16 248 fans watched a tense showdown.
Over 16 000 witnessed the Boston Americans lose to the Philadelphia leaders as play stretched four hours amid festive crowd chaos. Errors by Ferris and fielding miscues helped Philadelphia tally in the fourth and sixth, with Murphy keying defense. Boston managed two runs in the sixth and Freeman’s hit in the eighth but could not overcome the Philadelphia offense.
Weddell and Young were the opposing pitchers in the second game as a wattte revval was expected. In the fifth Young faltered and allowed six hits plus a base on balls and a sacrifice producing six runs. Boston struggled to touch Waddell who dominated with 1% strikeouts while Roston collected several scattered hits.

Fort Erie Ont September fight at Fort Iorie Club saw Tommy Ryan win by knockout in the sixth round over Kid Carter of Brooklyn. Ryan dominated with ring generalship while Carter pressured him. the bout drew a large crowd and notable boxing figures watched as Ryan sealed the win with successive rights to Carter's jaw.
Philadelphia Nationals surprise Boston club by taking two games after Athletics’ Hub wins. Iberg faced Willis in the opener. Shettsline’s lineup benefited from timely second inning hitting and Boston miscues to secure victory.

The Wood Island gymnasium will be open evenings until Sept. 30. The class work for the season has closed after a successful year as to attendance.

Eddie Connolly an American boxer loses to English challenger Tom Woodley after 11 hard rounds at Wonderland Club London. Connolly dominates early rounds but Woodley edges ahead from round six and wins the purse of 200 dollars and the 144-pound championship in a ferocious contest.

Ebe nezer Warren a great grand nephew of General Warren of Bunker Hill fame was found dead at his desk on Saturday of debility. He was 78, born in Foxboro Missouri and moved to the South before the Civil War where he served in the Confederate army and escaped capture in New Orleans.

Great Barrington Sept 15 George Huber who shot and instantly killed his wife at Monterey Sunday morning was taken to the county jail in Pittsfield for a hearing at Great Barrington Andrew C Fearing is confined in the station house and will be arraigned today on illegal cohabitation charges Fearing said the wife was infatuated with him and that he had reason to believe she was free from her husband The father of Mrs Huber ordered her body shipped to New York for autopsy and inquest is scheduled for Tuesday The reader recalls a Brooklyn girl and unsettled marriage history involving Huber and forged documents and a possible past crime tied to the family.

He recalled Huber’s past crime in Myrtle Avenue, a prison term, and pardon by Governor Hill. He mentioned meeting his daughter five years earlier on a German Sunday School excursion.
