Augusta Maine September 15 Kennebec Journal reports Mr Blaine and wife arrived from Bar Harbor. He told a reporter that voters should read the letters themselves to avoid misrepresentation and that none of the letters compromise integrity. He urged Republican papers in the Seis States to publish the letters in full.
Ex mayor Palmer refutes joining Gen Butler and reaffirms support for Cleveland in the Chicago nominations. Dennis A. O'Brien was arrested in Sheffield on the morning of Sept. 15 for indecent assault on Mabel Huggins, daughter of John R. Huggins. He allegedly planned to kidnap and marry her in Troy. In court he pleaded shy. O'Brien posted no bond. he remains in Pittsfield jail awaiting superior court action after five prior terms in the house of correction.

In St Albans Vermont this week the grand jury handed up indictments including Oscar Meyer for the murder of Hermann Krause on Lake Champlain last winter and Edmund Ellis for wrecking a train on the Missisquoi road last spring.
