Widow of Capt Dexter seeks aid amid threat to kill

Fires Reported in Dorchester Steam Lighter and Tremont Street Storeroom

In Boston and vicinity a small Dorchester house fire at Commercial street near Glover's corner caused $10 damage attributed to children and matches. A fire aboard the steam lighter N Hayden at Eastern railroad wharf caused $500 damage with unknown cause. A storeroom fire behind Tremont street address 1179, near P J Coyne’s stables, was extinguished. suspected incendiary origin with about $10 damage.

Inquest findings on several cases listed in July and August

Judge FParmeeter deems no reliable evidence of unlawful violence in the John Havey case though the body was identified as Havey. Edward Masterson died from being run over by an ice wagon with no culpable negligence found against driver Almar A Read. The Wiley Hatchard death from a car incident is not attributed to unlawful act. Lawrence Wilkinson died from knife wounds inflicted by Jennie Hennesy in a North Street incident.
