A storm yesterday tore away part of the Mary Hemenway School roof at Marchester during the first day of classes. About 50 pupils were inside when the debris struck the grounds surrounding the building. Miss Howes, ninth grade teacher, suffered a wrist wound from flying glass as the copper roof pinnacle was blown off.
