Eloping Philadelphia Couple Arrested in Lynn

James A Reynolds and Mrs Margaret Keifner were arraigned in Lynn Police Court on adultery charges after eloping from Philadelphia. They pleaded guilty and held on 400 bond each for the grand jury. Keifner blamed hypnotism, Reynolds spoke of love, and bonds were posted before departure for Philadelphia. Reynolds remained jailed in Salem while Mrs Keifner and her husband pursued reconciliation.

Bates, Attleboro town clerk, dies at 69 years

John T. Bates, town clerk and treasurer of Attleboro, age 69, died after weeks of illness. Born October 1831 in Boston, he served as Civil War customs collector and long time secretary treasurer of the Savings and Loan Association. Funeral Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Second Congregational Church.

Two Men Arrested in Jewelry and Typewriter Larcenies

Clyde S. Marston and David A. V. Percy faced charges for larceny of four valuable typewriters and jewelry from a key. Jamaica Plain’s H. P.
