Closing day of the Middlesex south agricultural fair drew a large crowd despite rain and humidity. Trotting events dominated the program with five starters in the 2 35 class and a 2 27 class race. Four Militiamen Die In Louisville Ammunition Explosion

Four members of Battery A of the Louisville Legion were instantly killed when ammunition exploded on the caisson gun en route to Phenix Hill for G A R parade duties. Commodore Charles F Morrill leads the South Boston yacht squadron for a Saturday fall cruise with a large regatta committee and judges. The countdown begins at 3 p m with signaling from the flagship Navarch, a race to Pettucks Island and Hull Bay, handicap methods posted at the club house, prize awards at 7 30 p m aboard the Navarch, and a Sunday farewell reception on flag officers yachts. Massive Pine Lumber Train Arrives In Boston

A 44 car train of yellow pine flooring arrived yesterday via the Boston & Maine railroad, shipped from Mississippi to Wood, Barker & Co. It is likely the largest lumber consignment ever moved by rail. The train spanned nearly one third of a mile and needed two locomotives. If laid end to end, the lumber would stretch over 350 miles.
