British and Egyptian forces clash near Kassassin and Tel el Kebir
London dispatches describe morning operations near Kassassin with Gen Willis advancing and repelling a large Egyptian force. Casualties are described as trifling for the Britons, while a Krupp gun and green standard are captured on the right flank near Tel el Kebir. Arabi Pasha’s plan is noted as flawed but the rebels fought better than before.
