San Francisco Sept 9 A local prize fight at Coffroth Arena ends after ten rounds with Jack Johnson credited a newspaper decision over Al Kaufman. Both fighters stood at the bell, but referee Eddie Smith rules Johnson the winner despite no formal decision per agreement.
New York Sept 9 traders left the exchange after the close believing Mr Harriman may be dead. Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, New York Central, Erie and other Harriman linked stocks opened lower with Pacifics drawing most interest. Union and Southern Pacific saw net selling and a gradual price drop.
