The Irish parliamentary envoys arrived last night for a mass demonstration in Boston. Prominent Irish figures Redmond Donellan and O'Brien received a reception on their arrival and will participate in the event.

The Irish envoys led by John E. Redmond Captain A. J. C. Donellan and Patrick O'Brien arrived at South Station Boston to a large cheering crowd. Redmond praised the Boston welcome while Donellan noted Cork could not deliver a warmer reception. They plan to meet Archbishop Williams attend cathedral services and visit Trinity Church.

Steamer Sinks Near Highland Light

A large vessel sank off Highland Light late last night. Cahoon's Hollow crew reported a lighthouse service steamer bound northward may be the sunken ship. Surfmen saw boats, while Dyer attempted a Pamet River landing through heavy surf. The patrol warned them off and they rested outside the breakers until daylight.

Jostled Man Stabs Visitor in Street Attack

Richard Wallace 32 of Union Street Peabody was stabbed in the abdomen by an unknown man after a sidewalk jostle near Hudson and Beach streets. The assailant fled. John Shay 50 of Edinboro lodging house was detained for questioning. Wallace treated at Emergency Hospital then Relief Hospital.

Russian losses rise as Kuropatkin army reaches Mukden

Russian estimates put losses at about 20 000 against Japanese 80 000 as Field Marshal Oyama failed to stop Kuropatkin. Japanese troops reportedly abandoned the pursuit while Kuropatkin’s forces march toward Mukden after a brutal retreat through mud and rain.

In Haverhill on Groveland bridge over the Merrimac a well dressed middle aged woman vanished after a midnight vigil by two transit workers. A black silk coat silk umbrella Boston bag and purse found near the railing are identified as hers by Louis Sinotte a wealthy druggist. Police drag the river fearing a body would be swept downstream. Sinotte says the 45 year old mother of six has been increasingly ill and erratic since the birth of her last child ten months ago.

Woman Found Starving in Franklin Park

Beatrice Lyons aged 56 was found near Blue Hill Avenue in Franklin Park after wandering for three days and nights. Patrolman Dupee reported she was soaked, exhausted, and had not eaten for several days, barely able to move.

Brave East Boston boys rescue two men from drowning

Two men clinging to an overturned dory off Wood Island Point East Boston were saved yesterday afternoon after three boys John Mahoney Michael Chisholm and Lawrence Moran heard their cries and raced to assist. The men gave the boys their names and promised to contact them soon.
