President's wife falls ill prompting urgent bedside consultation at the White House. Dr Mayo, famed surgeon, joins the attending specialists and is summoned in haste to assess her condition.
Postmaster Clifford H. Dickson of Pittsfield disappeared an hour after post office inspectors arrived to audit accounts. About $30,000 is involved with tangled records, but no shortage disclosed. Dickson, appointed a year ago by President Harding, has not been seen since leaving by a rear door.
Attorney General J Weston Allen attacks the governor’s handling and says Cox did not assist Hurlburt while Herbert Parker supports Allen. James Dempsey reports from Worcester with additional details continued on page 16.

Paris dispatch reports Egyptian student George Salem fired at a car he believed to be President Millerand's in front of the Elysee Palace. The shot went wild as Millerand was at Rambouillet residence at the time.
