Worcester Democracy selects delegates to State Convention

At a Worcester City Hall meeting on September 6 the Democracy named delegates for the State Convention. The at large slate includes Isaac Davis and others. ward delegations listed. Dorchester Forms McClellan Club At Public Meeting

Dorchester citizens gathered at Lyceum Hall to form a McClellan club. Capt. Ebenezer Eaton presided as officers were elected including N W Robinson as president and George F. Pierce as recording secretary. The club will establish headquarters and campaign vigorously for McClellan and Pendleton.

In Malden at Hill's Hall last evening, Hon. Mr Fuller presided as the chair. A McClellan club was organized with required measures adopted. T. J. Tay of Medford delivered a highly regarded speech to an attentive audience with applause.

Bangor Mass Meeting Ratifies McClellan Pendleton Nomination

A large rally in Pickering square Bangor Maine ratified the McClellan and Pendleton nomination. Colonel Charles W Roberts of the 2d Maine led the gathering as speakers urged support and fireworks illuminated the evening.

The Boston Post notes the Committee to notify Gen. McClellan of his nomination met in New York. They will inform him tomorrow of the nomination and it is rumored he may have resigned his Army commission.

Sheridan report on Berryville battle and losses

American despatch from Gen. Sheridan's army reports Berryville engagement result as a decisive repulse of the enemy. Union casualties expected under 100 severely wounded or killed. enemy losses about 500 with 300 in one brigade. General Humphreys mortally wounded but escaped capture. Ambulance train largely recovered except for one. Enemy encamped near Winchester.
