Rumors claimed Chester S. Jordan attempted suicide in his East Cambridge jail cell, with physicians not confirming a call. Jail officials denied the allegation, saying only his attorneys visited him that day. No Middlesex doctor report surfaced after inquiries.

The accused man’s lawyers Jeremiah Sullivan and Richard Teeling spent Sunday evening at Sullivan’s Court Street office gathering witnesses for a likely strenuous defense. Dr. William LeBlanc, a young physician who lives next door to the Jordan property, was mentioned in nearby discussions.
Charles W. Milligan of Roxbury was thrown from an auto on Smith street as it skidded in mud and struck a curb. He suffered a brain concussion and internal injuries and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. The other occupants were shaken but unharmed.
