Newton September 5 Mrs Sarah Adams of 62 West Street was knocked over by a passing bicycle while alighting from a car in Watertown Street and severely hurt.

Hartford reports the opening day of the Grand Circuit at Charter Oak Park ended in tragedy as Sadie Mac, the Canadian champion, collapsed and died in the fourth heat of the $10,000 Charter Oak trot. She fell about 200 yards from the finish while struggling to regain the lead she had held until the final turn.
Sadie Mac collapsed on the track and died instantly as her driver urged her on. A veterinary surgeon cited a broken blood vessel as the cause while onlookers noted she behaved oddly all afternoon. Angiela Zephyr and Glenwood M. outpaced her in the early heats.

In Charlton the Worcester & Southbridge car wreck occurred early this morning after Motorman Theodore H. Leete allegedly warned of a fast ride. Leete vanished after the crash, was later found dazed, and remains at home in East Brookfield. A woman died and 19 were severely injured.
Special car 22 of the Worcester Southbridge street railway jumped the curve at Hammer Rock station at 2 15 this morning. The car carried 20 passengers to Worcester from the anniversary hall closing number of the Charlton old home week celebration. Passengers blame Motorman Leete for the crash as the car sped at a terrific rate, tearing off trolley poles and crashing through a fence before landing in a field. The car was smashed to kindling with only the frame remaining. Officials deny orders for a fast run.
Harry English fired five shots from a boarding house window at Frank H. Lewis on South End’s 30 Wheelers Street. Lewis escaped unharmed but bore a knife wound to the chin, unexplained to police.
English reports that Lewis refused to leave a doorway prompting bricks thrown at a door and a shot fired through a window. Police hold English after a confrontation with Lewis who is wounded in the chin and questioned as a witness about the Boston incident.
