Police shakeups are announced as Captain Brown’s liquor squad faces transfers. Several officers move between stations in Boston to raid illegal liquor sellers, gambling dens, and opium joints, with new members assigned to key districts and raids expected to continue.
The Gallant 26th Regiment fresh from Plattsburg is due in Boston this morning with a 10 AM parade start. Soldiers will arrive at Union Railroad Station and be greeted by a committee then reviewed on the Common by Governor Wolcott, followed by events at the State House and Armory.
Colonel Rice's Twenty sixth Infantry regiment travels in 62 cars from Plattsburg to Boston for a two day welcome. The party will be greeted at Union station by parade committee including L J Logan and local officials. Coffee and rations provided, men to sleep on cars en route.
