In Gay New York at Columbia Theatre Opens Season

De Fe Re we manager A H Chamberlyn congratulated for an excellent production at the Columbia Theatre last evening. The show features a fresh cast, new costumes, a tuneful chorus of young women, and strong principal actors led by Catherine Lingard. Mae Crossley shines as Sally Tompkins with singing and magnetism, while Bella Gold and dancers Czarina and Fanehonette receive praise. William Gould and Louis Wesley add humor, and a burlesque parody titled Weighed on Yeast provides laughs. The piece promises a prosperous run and a lively summer spectacle.

Me 8 et Matt J Flynn present a lavish burlesque show at the Old Howard this week featuring twenty five white performers and a Creole contingent. Mlle Zit­tella called Queen of Burlesque leads a melange of songs and dances with another lineup including the Keeley brothers, Court ney and Nelson, Adams and Kelly, Richmond and Clements, Verdier sisters, Bryant and Conroy, Josie LeCoy, and the Grundys. The closing burlesque titled The Queen of the Opium Palace promises further mirth and social satire.

Labor Day at the Point of Pines Draws Vast Crowds

Thousands visited the Point of Pines for Labor Day with morning trains pouring in. Lynn Cadet Band concerts, amateur baseball, and a balloon ascent by the Sawyers entertained all day. The rustic theatre, seating 2500, was full both afternoon and night, featuring Raymon Moore's vaudeville stars with Jessie Couthous Emma Carus and the Colbys. A harvest festival begins next week in Weston.

The Crescent Gardens rustic theatre ends its season this week though the open air dance hall remains open until Oct 1 with daily dances. The Mimic Four vaudeville company leads the final bill with the famed Mimic Four act drawing long crowds and high praise from Manager O'Neill.

Nickelodeon Holiday Show Draws Big Crowd

A busy holiday at the Nickelodeon opened at 9 am and sold out tickets by 9:30. Mile Barnello’s Trilby feet contest drew many young ladies with sizes from 112 to 8 in, voting on artistic Trilbys. The theatre offered hourly vaudeville and living pictures with well known performers, and next Friday promises a large amateur bill with local contenders and valuable prizes.
