The German Saengerfest begins today and runs three days with performances by leading New England German choirs. Arbeiter Hall and Apollo Garden host events, a Volkfest at Music Hall, a parade Monday morning, and a grand sacred concert tomorrow night.

City Aldermen Act on Emergency Hospital and Engine Site

The Aldermen passed an order by Mr. Doyle to appoint a three member committee to study acquiring the Emergency Hospital as an extension of City Hospital, with one physician among the members. A site for Engine 22 was urged in a dispatch from Fire Commissioner Russell. The board rescinded a $10,000 ambulance loan and a $2,500 roofing loan for Ralins ford Island, and authorized expenditure by City Hospital trustees and public buildings. A mass committee was formed to arrange reception for Twenty sixth Regiment officers and men.
