In Claremont New Hampshire Sept 1 a house on Main Street was robbed after the residents left for a morning. Mrs Augusta Tolles had rooms to Hannah Bowen Mrs John Blanchard and Mrs Cummings. A desk in Tolles parlor and other rooms were emptied of cash totaling about 40 dollars with coins scattered. No other items were taken and the purse in Miss Bowens trunk was left behind. Tolles heard no disturbance while alone in the kitchen. The raid targeted cash while valuables remained.
