Man knocked down on Bow Street in Charlestown fight

At about 8 last evening John McCarthy was struck on Bow Street near Washington by an unknown assailant, then hit with a beer bottle causing a scalp wound. He was arrested by Officer Donovon, taken to the station for dressing, then allowed to go home. HORSEWHIPPING CASE. A man whip lashes editor Earl Marble after disputes over a published poem. A fine of 1 and costs was imposed. CRIMINAL NOTES. Police raid gambling rooms on Alden Street and Court Street. A knife attack at 311 Tremont Street leaves Samuel Johnson injured. Probate Court sends two burglars to Reform School, Julius G. Allen awaiting sentence. Municipal Court holds Carney and Hurley on a sailor robbery charge. A Kneeland Place quarrel ends with a sharp wound to Mrs Tully, husband jailed for the night.
