An explosion in the dressing room of S Slater Son woolen factory in Webster wounded and killed workers. Udric LaRoche, 26, a French Canadian, died crushed by flying metal. Julius Baum and two Polish women injured. Over 20 others lightly hurt as windows shattered. Cause of blast undetermined.
The treasure ship Arabistan delivered 2 725 000 in gold coins packed in 108 oak boxes to the sub treasury in the Federal building East Boston. Twelve bank clerks and inspectors oversaw the transfer guarded by police as they crossed the ferry to the old General Hancock.

Moran charges State Auditor neglect of duty for allowing a voucher removal and demands Governor Guild dismiss Fairbank from the Jamestown Exposition Commission. He claims a forged voucher of 77.50 and accuses Turner of unfitness, while rallying in Westhampton, Northampton, and Northampton and Essex. Moran says he may run for higher office and vows to debate Guild.

Mr Moran accuses State Auditor Turner of letting Fairbank remove a forged exposition voucher from his office. He reiterates the Expo Commissioner Fairbank charge and says Governor Guild will not walk arm in arm with him when he becomes governor. He says he has not heard of the Callahan case cited by Lawyer Hill.
Governor Guild and Republicans rally in Campello and Brockton reacting to Moran charges. The event at Canton Hall drew Democrats and overflow crowds as Guild defended his record and funding stance while addressing child labor, the Perkins incident, and the Fairbank furniture matter.
Abe Attell defeated Harry Baker after 20 rounds at the Pacific Athletic Club to claim the featherweight championship. Baker, of San Francisco, had previously conquered Frankie Nell.
In a speech last night Governor Guild said he received a $100 check from the Springfield McKinley memorial fund and accepted it only after assurances of a surplus. He credited Fairbank with holding state property and saving the state storage and transportation costs, noting a detailed inventory with the Exposition Commission and stating the property will be used at the Jamestown exposition. He commended Fairbank for reducing state expenses.
Judge White dismissed the libel filed by Boston lawyer Frederick W. Peabody against his wife Anna May Peabody for desertion. The court suggested a new libel could be filed if desired. The ruling ends a unique divorce case with little likelihood of a reattempt.
In Concord New Hampshire on October 30 Mary Baker G Eddy leader of Christian Science faced a press delegation at Pleasant View. The 85 year old answered briefly denying health rumors driving daily and living without physicians, then exited after a 48 second appearance that stirred pathos among spectators.
A Boston press party linked to the New York World story seeks an audience with Mrs. Eddy. Reporters including Noble, Park, Patullo, and others travel to Pleasant View with Secretary Edward N. Pearson to identify Mrs. Eddy and pose questions on health and control of her affairs.
Worcester October 30 A bulletin from Congressman Rockwood Hoar's physician states his condition remains unchanged He is extremely weak and in very serious condition the bulletin reports as of 10 o'clock tonight
